Read Y The First Draft For Yourself

Y the Last Man

Wondering what the movie version of Y: The Last Man will turn out like? A sneak peak appeared online in the form of an early draft of the movie's script, written by creator Brian K. Vaughan.

The script had been available at My PDF Scripts, but has since been removed. The script, written by Vaughan, was written earlier in the movie's development, and has been replaced by a script by the project's current director, DJ Caruso.

(Sorry to all who clicked through to see it'd been removed!)

I love this artwork: Nic Klein

I love this dudes artwork. Now I'm not some sorta art critic but I know what I like, and I like this. There are dozens of artists who all work with this sort of style, but each has their own way of bring it to life. It's like saying every Marvel and DC comic book look the same, yeah, they do in a way, but that's your "thing" you can easily pick out one artist from another.

From what I can gauge there is lots of action scenes that look a lot like Tank Girl or early 90s MTV comic book art with  a  slightly better artistic style to it. I like that there is a little Astro Boy in the background of one of the pictures or  the zombie style theme that definitely does it for me. 42

So to sum it all up it would be wrong to say that it's just one item that makes it good but it's not just the theme or the way its drawn but how the composition comes together and how it makes the artwork feel overall. So if you want to see more go check out his website and you might be surprised. Heck  you might just find something there that you like. Want to see more on top of that go check out some of the comic books, do a quick Google "Nic Klein" and you might just find something new to read.

Broken Grey Matter – Does it Really Chupacabra Much?

Pulp Sci-Fi

I'm not sure if it's all the JAG I've been watching, The copious amounts of comic books( 2000 AD tonight) or the lack of sleep but somehow I just skipped one whole hour. I just looked down at the clock on the corner of my screen and it was just past 01:00 and then BLAM it's just after 02:00. JAG stopped playing a while ago and somehow I am about 3 Progs deep* and I don't remember any of it. I'm gonna take this as a sign and try to get some downtime. This is starting to feels just a little to real all of a sudden.

I can't wait for my legs to get better so I can start running again and get more glorious sleep.

I’m such a Comic Book Geek

Comics are gud

Its midnight - ish and I have nothing better to do then read comic books.       * sigh *

In my defense Scud The Disposable Assassin and Marvel Zombies are a damn good read even if you are not into comic books. Personally I have never seem the attraction to super human based comics but the ones with a horror, cyberpunk and dark sci-fi rock my world.

I do not know where I am going with this yet but if you read this ( I'm sure that someone must be reading this tripe as I get approx 200 unique impressions a day) then please send me a line and let me know what you are reading at the moment and maybe I will get lucky and find something new to read in the wee hours of the morning.

I'm counting on someone to recommend something otherwise I will have start reading lots of Manga and I'm not sure what that will do to the last remnants of my sanity.

Blowing one’s own head off is bound to change a man

1255633845Blowing one's own head off is bound to change a man, but who knew that it could also readjust one's moral alignment?

That's the question at the very heart of "Image United," the upcoming six-issue crossover series written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Image Comics founders Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri and Jim Valentino. At the recent Diamond Retailer Summit in Baltimore, Kirkman made the shocking announcement that the recently deceased "Spawn" protagonist, Al Simmons, is the villain of "Image United," delivering an emotional sucker punch not only to the characters of the Image Universe, but to longtime readers as well.

Kirkman spoke exclusively with CBR News about Al Simmons' role in "Image United," what it means for the book's characters and how his shocking return will effect the Image Universe in the months to come.

Al's change from good guy to not-so-good guy is certainly a big surprise, but that's not the only surprise regarding the character. After all, Simmons recently killed himself in "Spawn" #185, which begs the question: how on Earth is he even alive? The answer, it seems, lies not on the mortal world's surface, but a few significant strides beneath it.

"Anybody that's read 'Spawn' recently knows that Al Simmons got fed up and, for reasons that are yet to be revealed in that series, he just decided to kill himself," Kirkman explained. "There is a new Spawn named Jim Downing that's still learning what's going on, but nobody really knows what's been going on with Al Simmons. 'Image United' is going to reveal a little bit of that. There are a lot of changes he's undergone since he technically killed himself — he's been in Hell and has kind of risen through the ranks of Hell. Time works a little differently there. Now, he's come back to Earth and he wants to take over."
